Das Messer an sich ist für mich perfekt. Es hat alle Werkzeuge die ich brauche, jedoch keine unnötigen und vorallem nicht zu viele. Das Gewicht, die Größe und Handhabung ist deswegen optimal. Die Qualität und Verarbeitung ist sehr gut, ich will das Messer garnicht mehr aus der Hand geben. Ich habe die einzelnen Werkzeuge Indoor und im Wald getestet und bin echt begeistert von der Leistung. Die kleine Säge bringt mehr Leistung, als man von so einer Größe erwarten könnte. Die Klingen sind standardmäßig auf rasierschärfe gebracht worden. Ich kann definitv eine klare Kaufempfehlung dafür aussprechen, wenn man diese Werkzeug Kombination bevorzugt!

Dieses Messer begleitet mich bereits 5 Jahre lang und sieht noch aus wie gerade erst gekauft. Obwohl ich es sehr oft in Gebrauch habe, sei es beim Wandern, daheim, in der Werkstatt oder auf Reisen. Es hat genau die passenden Werkzeuge für meine Anforderungen. Mit den Schraubendreher bekommt man fast jede Schraube auf, die Säge sägt sich in wenigen Augenblicken durch jedes Holz und jedes andere Werkzeug ist für eine Vielzahl von Anforderungen geeignet. Lediglich mit den Drahtabisolierer bin ich nicht ganz zufrieden, aber den brauche ich eigentlich nie.

Zudem ist dieses Messer sehr preiswert für diese Qualität und Anzahl an Funktionen und es passt in fast jede Hosen- oder Jackentasche.

Für mich das beste Taschenmesser, dass ich mir gekauft habe.

Ideal zum Schnitzen

Before I got the Hiker I had 2 campers. The first one was from my dad and it is still going strong to this day, even though the blade has been worn down a bit. The other camper I had was lost unfortunately but in the short period I had it, I had loved it. Recently I decided to get a Hiker SAK. So far I have loved it. Straight out of the box it was razor sharp and could cut through anything quickly, whether that was wood, a box, or an apple. A lot of people just use their SAK once every couple days too open a box, comparatively I would use mine to build a house. The small blade is great for smaller carving and whittling projects like making a spoon. The Philips screwdriver works fantastically for removing screws or tightening them. The saw cuts extremely quickly and is extremely sharp, just ask my hand. I’ve already used the can opener twice on BSA camping trips and it has preformed well. I haven’t used the bottle opener or wire stripper yet but I have heard great things about them. The tweezers are a bit small but are great for removing small splinters or ticks. After a while though they do end up falling out, it hasn’t happened to my Hiker yet though. I used the Awl/Punch/Reamer/ whatever you want to call it once to drill a small hole in a piece of wood. It came a bit dull and was hard to use but that didn’t stop me. Overall a great 3 layered knife and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a small, easy to sharpen, and practical knife.

Lightweight and perfect for EVERY use and very reliable

I love the tinker it’s the best every day carry knife (edc).  The hiker is a tinker with a saw.  The saw is perfect for day hikes.  The two blades are great for any function and the overall thickness of this knife is perfect for daily carry.  Sometimes I think the tinker goes unnoticed but the hiker is perfect for daily carry.  Check out the walnut version of this knife for a wood upgrade.

Ho acquistato questo prodotto alla ricerca di un multiuso economico e affidabile ed ormai lo utilizzo da più di 8 mesi: assolutamente perfetto! È ricco di funzioni, maneggevole, gli strumenti sono molto validi e ormai è diventato il mio compagno di escursioni in montagna, lavori domestici o picnic al parco. Nota di merito è la presenza del cacciavite Phillips, che, per come è montato, permette di fare leva sulla vite con l'intero coltello, in un modo che non è possibile emulare con un cacciavite normale. L'unico elemento di cui sento la mancanza sono le ottime forbici Victorinox.

I've carried a pocket knife since being a young boy. Many years ago as a Boy Scout leader I was looking for a new upgrade. I was going to buy the Tinker because the phillips blade would be more useful than a cork screw. But than I saw the Hiker as a better choice because of the saw blade and bought it. It's been a great knife. As my sons became Boy Scouts I bought them Victorinox knifes. I've recommended Victorinox basic knifes to other leaders and parents as a good starter knife.

Great versatile knife

I got this knife a few weeks ago because I love carving and I thought it’s large blade, small blade, awl, and wood saw would be perfect for carving/whittling anywhere. Also, I saw that it was recommended for carving in a swiss army whittling book (which I forgot the name of) so I had to get it. And so far it has done exactly what I thought it would! The blades are easy to keep sharp (shaving sharp) with a little bit of stropping after each use, and the wood saw works perfectly to steal a little piece of a branch off of a tree or to shorten wood to carving size. The awl seems useful for making small holes in wood however I haven’t figured out how to use it correctly. The screwdrivers and other tools are also very handy while I’m not carving. Overall a very useful and slick looking little tool, especially for the price!

I've carried Victorinox knives since my Dad purchased my Huntsman for me back in 1983. Over the years that knife was in my pocket thru more adventures than space permits, and it is upstairs as I write this. As I got older, I began to look for slimmer knife for my everyday carry. In the process, I became somewhat of a Swiss Army Knife collector, and have tried the various models. After this, it all came down to just two, the 91mm Tinker and this knife, the Hiker. My son has owned and carried a red Hiker for years and it is his go to knife. I discovered a special edition Hiker that caught my eye, and mentioned it to my wife. What happened? She purchased it for my birthday and it arrived immediately prior to a hike I had signed up for the the Boy Scouts. I had the chance to take it out and put it thru some of its paces in the outdoors. I came away thrilled with this wonderful example of 3-layered Swiss Craftsmanship! It's in my pocket as I type this, and rotates out with my Tinker throughout my week. This knife is the ideal for anyone, whether a trip to the office or a thru hike on the Appalachian Trail! I can vouch, too, for Victorinox and the Lifetime warranty: when they say they cover their products come no matter what, they mean it, period! I'd purchase this knife again in a heartbeat!

Unbelievably high quality for the price, I carry and use this knife every day and the addition of the screwdriver instead of the cork screw is very useful! Not too bulky, sometimes you will forget you are even carrying it with the low weight! also easy to sharpen with the victorinox dual sharpener. 10/10!!

Perfect For Daily Carry!

Both blades are razor sharp out of the box. The wood saw can cope with many branches. The bottle opener is steady, it locks in 180 and 90 degrees, i think it locks better than anything other on the knife. The flathead screwdriver on the can opener could be used in some phillips screws too, but i do not recommend to use it in such way because you could harm the edge of the can opener. The punch, reamer copes easily with plastics or leathers, but while in use it bends back easily to its spot. The phillips screwdriver is quite big, maybe too big for such a little tool. There is a hole for a pin under the phillips, but there is no pin in it. If you want one, you have to add it. Sometimes the oil flows out a bit, it could be bad in dusty weather.

Perfect for everyday carry

Good knife. Extremely sharp out of the box. Very easy to use. Only opens and closes when you want it to. Screw driver is much more useful than the corkscrew alternative as well as more ergonomic in the hand. I use mine a lot and it holds an edge very well. I've had it for almost 6 months and use it about 3 times a week and it is still as sharp as it was 6 months ago.

Esta navaja me ha acompañado en el coche a todos los sitios donde he ido, y me ha sacado de apuros (especialmente con sus dos destornilladores). Apretar o soltar tornillos, abrir paquetes y cartas... conviene tenerla siempre a mano. Ya he pedido mi segunda navaja, en este caso la Explorer, que reemplazará a la Hiker en el coche (tiene más funciones), pero la Hiker seguirá conmigo allá donde vaya.

Versátil

For me this model has just the right tools and more importantly nothing I don't use frequently. everything is nice and tight and construction is solid. The blades are not hefty but just right. Caution, the saw is super sharp and I have the scar to prove it! The Phillips screw driver works contrary to what one reviewer wrote. It works best on #2 and pretty well on #1 screws which is 90% of screws in the world; nothing can be perfect for everything! Everything else works well. The grip is the same as other Swiss army models but you shouldn't expect a tactical grip anyway. I Love it and I carry it daily and use it often. I recommend the medium leather pouch with clip, the fit is perfect!

everything I need, nothing I don't!

I used to view Swiss Army Knives as more "worthy" than desirable. I can now see, however, that they're absolutely perfect for 90%+ of urban pocket-knife duties. This model is UK-legal too so there's no risk associated with carrying it in public places.

If you want an indestructible, heavy-duty folding knife for hard outdoor use then the Hiker is not the one. If, however, you're after a well-made "people-friendly" cutting tool with sharp blades that'll also handle stuff like prising open tins; adjusting screws; making small holes etc then this is an excellent purchase.

Great design with nice, tight tolerances. Blades light and precise rather than hefty but they have zero play, are sharp out the box and are easily re-sharpened. Tools well-formed and great for everyday (if not heavy-duty) use. No pocket clip but when suspended mid-pocket from one's belt with a cable tie and mini carabiner it's neat and easily accessed and, at 77g, no burden either.

GREAT value considering it's a quality, Swiss-made item.

Excllent UK legal knife for everyday carry & good mini-tool

I have one of these in black in my modest collection, but as a user. Great EDC knife with the same quality you'd expect with any other SAK. Nice sturdy selection of standard tools. The Phillip's screwdriver is a bit limited by it's position on the handle, but it's still a lot more useful than the corkscrew.

Great Slim EDC Knife

I carried a Swiss Army Knife like this one in Viet Nam in 1970. In the jungles it was the best tool to have then and I have carried one since then.
In the last 2 years I lost 2 while repairing a friends fishing boat while fishing the same lake. I will never own a different knife!

Greatest Knife Ever

I have carried a knife most of my life. By far, the majority of the time it was a Victorinox Swiss Army knife. My 23 year old knife ended up with a broken blade (my fault for not using it properly). To replace it I ordered two Hiker models - one for our home up North and since we can no longer carry knives on aircraft, I ordered one for our Winter residence in Florida. I am never without a knife! In my opinion there is none better than a Victorinox Swiss Army knife for the price.

Great all around pocket knife

I bought this knife a week ago and I can't let it go - I always need it. It has the very useful wood saw and the small blade which is great if the big one breaks.

If you are one of those who count every gram of the equipment you take out, this is the right knife for you as it is for me.
I can say this is a great survival tool and its very light and has a great grip plus only the most necessary tools you need for outdoors.
This is my 4th Victorinox knife, i just love to have a different one for every situation, even many times one is more than enough.
Its the perfect knife for an outdoors person.
The saw cuts lovely and i am happy that there is no corkscrew on it, but a screwdriver that will see a lot use in its lifetime even mostly indoors.

Ideal hiker/camper/survival knife

I was given this model of Swiss Army knife as a present in 1996. It has been with me all over the world and been used for countless jobs at home and on camping trips etc ever since. The knife is as good as new (apart from the odd cosmetic scratch etc), I can't fault the quality of this knife and it will quite literally last a lifetime.

There are a great set of tools and features on this particular knife which I have found cover most needs. Personally I have found the philips screwdriver more useful than the usual corkscrew in this space. The saw is excellent and still razor sharp after 16 years despite being used on numerous camping trips. The small blade has also come in useful for small cutting jobs.

I would highly recommend this model.

Excellent Quality with excellent features

I have been carrying a swiss army knife on me for over a decade now and don't plan on stopping anytime soon. In the past I have had several models but like this one best as it fits my particular lifestyle. As mentioned in my "summary", just about every tool on this thing has been used, except the wire stripper and small flat head screw driver. This particular model has been with me for at least the past five years. I truly appreciate it's simplicity and versatility.
