Exactly what I was looking for. It is a Christmas present for my husband. He has never had a Swiss Army knife so I know he'll be happy with it.

I've been carrying this for several years and it has been a great general EDC companion! My first pocket tool was the Camper, but I found the Scissors and Philips Screwdriver much more useful for what I want from a pocket tool. I wasn't expecting to love the scissors as much as I do, but those things are just great! I really appreciate the variety of tool combinations Victorinox offers. While I certainly haven't put this thing through the wringer, I'm happy to say it functions just as good as the day I bought it, with only very minor scratches on the scales, which don't bother me at all.

EDC Perfection

Ich bin mit Victorinox Taschenmessern groß geworden und hatte bereits seitdem ich 8 Jahre alt war ein Classic SD. Dies ist jetzt 40 Jahre her. Als Teenager hatte ich Taschenmesser mit so ziemlich allem was man sich vorstellen kann (groß = besser?) und als Erwachsener ein großartiges Swiss Tool X Plus (das perfekte Tool, aber schwer) was mich seit ca. 20 Jahren zuverlässig im Rucksack oder auf Umzügen begleitet. Auch wenn ich mit dem Swiss Tool das beste und robusteste Werkzeug bereits besaß, suchte ich ein EDC Taschenmesser für die urbane Umgebung. Es sollte leicht, gut in die Hose einzustecken sein und trotzdem die wichtigsten Werkzeuge haben. Durch die Filterfunktion bin ich mit dem Super Tinker fündig geworden. Es ist genau das, was ich mir vorgestellt habe und wie gewohnt in hervorragender Qualität. Der richtige Kreuzschlitzschraubendreher ist Gold wert für kleinere Reparaturen. Die meisten Schrauben haben einen Kreuzschlitz und ein Schlitzschraubendreher ist hierfür nur ein schlechter Kompromiss. Für meinen Gebrauch ist er sehr viel besser geeignet als ein Korkenzieher. Meiner Meinung nach hat das Taschenmesser (bis vielleicht auf den Haken) kein überflüssiges Werkzeug. Es ist bereits nach kurzem Gebrauch mein wichtigstes Victorinox mit unverzichtbaren Werkzeugen, welches ich wärmstens weiterempfehlen kann.

I have spent 40 years working in the logistics industry around the world and everyday I have needed to use my penknife for one thing or another. I have sworn by my Swiss Army knife 🔪 and tried many different models.  Yes they do wear out,  but not quickly,  so there's always been value for money. Important to buy the genuine item though as many generics exist.

The Super Tinker is another fantastic knife from Victorinox, which I bought to complement my 30-year-old Climber SAK (which continues to give excellent service).

I've had this knife for years and it never ceases to amaze me when I find a new use for it.  This is the best balanced knife in the range as far as I'm concerned.  Not too big and not short on tools either.  Love this knife!

Bought for my husband for Christmas. Chose the Super Tinker over the Climber because of the screw driver. The tool is a nice size and has everything you need on a day to day basis. We have just moved house and it has come in extremely handy and he is very pleased with it. Shame I could not get this style personalised.

Super handy

When I was living in Switzerland forty odd years ago, I purchased a spartan, (or whatever they were called back then), it has served me well and still does! An essential tool for long camping trips or opening letters or a beer in my office! Its excellent and works as well as the day it was purchased.

So why upgrade?, maybe it was the scissors, but maybe just the craftmanship of an excellent tool that will never let you down. Maybe its better to have two Swiss Army knives rather than one....

Spartan to Super Tinker upgrade!

Have had a few climbers in the past but no need for a corkscrew now ! So Super Tinker seemed obvious choice and Phillips is very useful. Usual high quality from Victorinox.

Nachdem ich jahrelang täglich immer einen Huntsman mit mir herumgetragen habe, ist nun der Super Tinker zu meinem neuen EDC geworden: leichter, weniger breit und ohne Holzsäge - denn wer braucht die schon, in der Stadt ?

Statt des beim Huntsman oder Climber vorhandenen Korkenziehers, verfügt der Super Tinker über einen Philipps Schraubendreher 1/2 und ist damit auf relativ kleinem Raum passend bezüglich all jener Schraubenformate ausgestattet, die im Alltag immer noch am häufigsten anzutreffen sind.

Noch nützlicher als der Mehrzweckhaken - dieser fehlt beim ebenfalls dreilagigen Hiker beispielsweise ganz -, wäre meines Erachtens ein weiterer Schraubendreher, z.B. Torx 20. 

Was mir dagegen sehr gut gefällt, ist die bei diesem 3-Layer mittig verbaute, von mir relativ häufig verwendete Schere. Für mich erhöht sie den Praktikabilitätswert gegenüber dem Tinker deutlich. Wann immer ich diesen oder ein Spartan dabeihatte, habe ich mich öfter über die fehlende Schere als über die fehlende Holzsäge geärgert. Als 3-Layer käme für mich deshalb auch ein Hiker nicht als EDC in Frage.

Obwohl der Super Tinker etwas breiter und schwerer ist als sein leichtgewichtiger Bruder, der Tinker, ist er immer noch handlicher als der Huntsman oder Fieldmaster. Im Gegensatz zu diesen beiden und wiederum verglichen mit dem Tinker oder Spartan, nehme ich sein zusätzliches Gewicht in der Hosentasche aber kaum wahr.

Damit ist der Super Tinker für mich das Super EDC, vor allem, wenn sich wie in meinem Fall, das eigene Alltagsleben hauptsächlich im urbanen Raum abspielt.

Super EDC

I’m a huge fan of the tinker but sometimes I want to have scissors and the hook.  I either go out with a tinker, super tinker, or a Swiss champ.   It all depends on what I might need for the day and how big of a knife I want to carry.  Being a collector for 35 plus years these three Victorinox knives are my top three choices.   This is the perfect middle ground with preparedness in mind.

Every mans EDC

El modelo Super Tinker es uno de mis modelos favoritos, tiene las herramientas necesarias para una día en la ciudad, el grosor de capas la hacen muy portable y el destornillador en cruz es muy bueno. Con relación a su modelo hermana Climber me parece que se complementan muy bien para diferentes necesidades, uso las dos dependiendo de mi dia a dia, pero cua do me preguntan que modelo comprar siempre recomiendo la Super Tinker

I received a Super Tinker SAK as a gift from my father when I was ten. Since then, it has served me well and looks almost new nineteen years later. This knife has a good combination of compactness (not too thick for a pocket) and the right tools for everyday urban problems. I might want a few different tools if I took an SAK camping or traveling. The can opener is so good that I used it as my only can opener until I got married and my wife made me buy a "real" one. I use the scissors and the screwdriver almost every day. I have punched holes in many belts with the awl (too skinny). Every once in a while, I wish my SAK had a corkscrew, but I wouldn't give up the screwdriver. I admit that I have never used the hook, but the day will come when I have to carry a heavy package by a string handle and then I will be grateful.

It was harder to comfortably carry this in a pocket until I bought an UltraTac suspension clip for a few dollars. Now, I take my SAK everywhere.

The Super Tinker is the same as the Climber, but with Philips screwdriver instead of the corkscrew. Of course with the corkscrew, one can also carry the mini screwdriver accessory, but sometimes you don't need these. I carry the Super Tinker with my car keys using the Victorinox belt clip and chain. This model has all the classic tools and with 3 layers is the biggest I'd want to carry in my pocket.

La Super Tinker es un gran aliado en el día a día. La tengo desde hace más de 1 año y me ha sacado de apuros. Tiene lo básico necesario para una navaja que puedes usar en el bolsillo del pantalón ya que al ser tan compacta no estorba o bien en una funda para tener acceso más fácil a ella. El destornillador Philips en lugar del sacacorchos es un gran acierto y sus demás herramientas se vuelven útiles en el momento más inesperado. Ha cumplido mis expectativas tanto en calidad de materiales como en calidad de servicio. La recomiendo ampliamente.

This is my everyday pocket knife for most situations. Having tried various different options this one comes out on top every time. The most used tools by far are the small blade and the scissors. The large blade is reserved for preparing food or occasional heavier tasks. The selection of screwdrivers is where this model comes into its own, and they come in handy a lot. The phillips on the back of the knife is far more useful than a corkscrew. Between the different options you can do most of the small impromptu jobs that a pocket tool should do. 

This is quite a large, chunky knife for everyday carry, it is certainly the largest I would consider carrying, but the thinner lighter options either lack scissors, or in the case of the Compact, lack a phillips. 

 The hook is not very useful but to be fair it lies flat and does not take up any extra weight or space. I have used it a couple of times. Other models have a file on the back of the hook, but this one lacks a file. 

I also do not understand why plus scales (which include a small pen and a straight pin) are not included on here. Why not give us a couple of extra tools for no extra space or weight? I bought some separately and added them on. 

I also have a minimalist option (the Rambler) and a larger option for if I am going out into the bush (Trailmaster - locking blade and saw). 

In summary, this pocket knife is the best everyday knife I have found. It is not the thinnest, or the lightest. But for my usual day it has the tools I need all the time, plus the ones I like to have available just in case, without extra unnecessary fluff. This is a robust everyday pocket tool.

This is my first actual SAK and I absolutely love it. The craftsmanship, design, and utility of it are perfect. It's also not too thick or heavy. I'd absolutely recommend it.

Perfect everyday SAK

All the tools I need for everyday casual use. I haven’t use every tool for its specific use, but everything has been used for some type of task. As far as I know, it’s lightweight as it has been my only SAK I’ve ever owned. I’ve had it for over about a year, and I really could say that I’ve never had a problem with it.

Everything I needed!

I have owned and used Victorinox knives for almost 35 years now, and have my favourite models for different situations or activities. Now as a true EDC knife, when I don't know what the day will bring this is the model I choose to carry. It has everything I need on a regular basis, with nothing extra to weigh me down.

My perfect EDC.

I have several other Swiss Army knives and, over the years, I've owned many others. This Super Tinker is by far my favorite! It seems to have a tool for any need. Scissors, Phillips screwdriver, two blades, and a number of other tools. This is my "carry" knife. It is a keeper!

All Round Best Pocket Knife

This is a brilliant knife. It's a good edc and the scissors are useful for more than nail care. I do like the hook and hole punch and a Phillips screwdriver is probably my most used tool.

Of the seven different versions of Swiss Army knives that I've owned and carried every day for over 40 years (I still have 6 of them) this one is my favourite. I have never wished for "one more" function and neither have the scores of people who needed to borrow it. I consider it my third hand.

Best knife ever

I've written reviews on my other Swiss Army Knives, and am an enthusiastic owner/user.  I've carried one almost exclusively for the past 33 years, and have never felt underequipped in any situation.  I just recently acquired a Super Tinker, and I think I've found the ultimate.  This knife has everything I could possibly think of, in a nice 3 layer package.  It carries wonderfully, and lacks nothing I can think of.  I heartily recommend the Super Tinker!

The Ideal EDC

I am first a farmer ,been one my whole life. You can't farm without a good knife in your pocket.. I have had many other knives in my younger days but once I found the" Super Tinker" that was it. No other knife has been in my pocket !!! I have carried one for over 35 years, not the same one, am on my 4th one . There is a new one in my keep box waiting it's turn to be put to work. I have used every tool on the knife time and time again. I am also a field researcher at a large university, I use my Tinker almost every day here. All in all I think everyone should have a Super Tinker in their pocket .

I bought two of these in 1984. One for my wife, and one for me. Mine has the Phillips screwdriver, hers has the corkscrew. Last year I rescaled both just to freshen them up. We use them for camping and around the house. Mine lives in the car so it's always handy. In spite of owning several other models, we would replace these if they were to become lost.

Durable

I am a 30 year old avid outdoorsman. I practice a lot of bushcraft, and small game hunting. I have never owned a Victorinox. I waited too long. About a month ago, I finally bought my first one, a Super Tinker. I have used this knife daily, since I bought it. I have put it to the test, and it superbly passes!
At first I was skeptical about it, because I generally don't like folders. They always seem weak. It's a design flaw that I assumed to be inherent in all folders, that if its tang isn't solid with the blade, the meet up point is a weak spot. The Super Tinker has proven me wrong. This thing fits my hand perfectly, and is razor sharp from the factory. Even the tweezers impressed me a lot! I own a pair of medical tweezers, and the ones in this knife are as precise as them.
I have thought long and hard about the star count that I would give This knife. I almost gave it 4 stars, because of the flat head on the can opener tool. (Which is something ALL multi tool brands do that always bugs me.) but after opening 20+ cans, it hasn't been a single problem. So in my honest opinion, this knife is truly a 5 star knife. I do look forward to owning several more Victorinox knives in the future. Maybe even a watch, if they put the same amount of detail into them as they do their knives.
