From the first prototype to full-scale production, each stage includes up to 20 individual tests that simulate real travel conditions. Products are fully packed and securely locked before testing, and selected procedures include temperature conditioning to reflect the extremes your luggage may face. Luggage Testing

We test every case to make sure it performs wherever your travels take you. Each procedure mirrors years of use to confirm the strength, reliability, and endurance that define Victorinox.

Treadmill Test: Rolling over rough and smooth surfaces, in both four-wheel and two-wheel modes, proves that your luggage moves as smoothly as your journey should.

Tumble Test: Rotational testing simulates continuous movement and handling, ensuring your luggage remains resilient through every transfer and connection.

Drop Test: Each case is dropped from 90 cm to test its ability to absorb shocks so your belongings stay protected even when your trip doesn’t go to plan.

Corner Drop Test: We drop luggage on all eight corners to verify structural integrity. From crowded car boots to airport carousels, every angle of impact has been tested.

Carry Handle Jerk Test: A mechanical hook repeatedly lifts and releases the loaded case to verify handle strength. You can trust your luggage to stay secure in your hand, wherever you go.

Trolley Handle Extension Test: Handles are extended and retracted repeatedly to confirm smooth movement and precise functionality because every detail should perform flawlessly.

Environmental Test: Our products are exposed to alternating heat, cold, and humidity to ensure they perform in all climates. From icy runways to tropical heat, each suitcase is built to endure.

Backpack Testing

We apply the same testing standards to our backpacks. Every Victorinox backpack undergoes a defined series of laboratory tests to confirm durability, comfort, and reliability in everyday use.

Material Abrasion Test: Fabrics are subjected to controlled rotation cycles under pressure to confirm they resist everyday wear, keeping their look and integrity over time.

Shoulder Strap Jerk Test: Straps and seams are repeatedly tested under tension to verify strength and comfort so you can carry with confidence no matter the load.
