I wish I could customize a knife outfit for me or change/add a feature to an existing knife.  If I could add on to the Skipper, I would add the scissor feature.  Having a pair of scissors on a sailboat is a necessity, which would make this knife set even more vaulable.

Ce que je cherchais

Vraiment beau, ça a été ma première impression en ouvrant la boite. D'abord j'adore le bleu, la rose des vents inspire le voyage, et l'écusson tranche joliment avec son rouge historique. Il tombe bien dans la main, un peu lourd, ce qui rajoute au plaisir mais évidement peut être un inconvénient.
Il comporte l'essentiel des outils. La position du cruciforme est inhabituelle puisqu'elle nécessite pour s'en servir de déplier la pince. La lame est curieusement dentelée au bout et pas à la base comme souvent, mais qu'importe, elle doit être efficace pour les cordages.

Super !

Been racing sailboats for 65 years, and this is far and away the best sailing knife I've had.  The serrated blade is so sharp, you'll cut yourself just looking at it.  Cut through 5/8" sheet like butter.  Shackle buster and splicing fid  are great, along with wirecutter/electrical crimper/pliers.  Have given one to all my sailing crew.

Has everything you need including a shackle key but could do with a longer elasticated lanyard and its worth adding and miniature screwdriver that fits in the corkscrew to tighten your sunglasses when the little screw works loose!

Almost perfect sailing knife

J'avais un couteau de voile d'une autre marque et depuis que j'ai celui-ci, je suis enchanté. Il est efficace, j'ai tout ce qu'il me faut sous la main en permanence, il est confortable en main, bref, il est simplement excellent.
Je le recommande à tous les possesseurs de bateau et surtout de voilier.

Great solid knife. Absolutely razor sharp blade and I mean sharp. For some reason I noticed that the knife was very slightly magnetized not sure if that bad or good. Awesome knife definitely recommend, 100% awesome.

Perfektes Tool

I bought this knife over a year ago and for two reasons. My interest in rope work and my interest in sailing. As a general tool for walking about it is perhaps a little bulky but when used for sailing or rope work it is excellent. I was sceptical whether or not the tool for splicing would be strong enough but have found it to be excellent not just for splicing but in tidying up decorative work. I wouldn’t use it for splicing wire and if this is something you need to do then look at buying the `Pro’ Version.  When I bought the knife I also had to buy the small screw driver that sits in the corkscrew which was a disappointment in a knife costing this much. I just wish I‘d had one of these knives 45 years ago when I first went to sea.

originally purchased this knife for sailing. the tool selection is excellent. love the blade lock system. my only major issues are the serrations which are difficult to resharpen...and is the way this knife is only sharpened on one side. the combination of these two issues make the knife almost useless for general purpose tasks.

design is too purpose driven

Excellent couteau ! L’habillage Navy est très agréable.
Le tournevis est un sacré plus, le demanilleur a plus d’une utilité ( marche bien pour tourner le porte « bit » 6 pans des visseuses et tourne vis universels par exemple .
Mais pourquoi diable ne pas avoir mis une lame à une main ?? Sur un couteau de cette taille une petite protubérance de l’outil n’est pas gênante , quel dommage !
Tout de même un très bon couteau , je l’utilise lors de sorties vélos pour différents bricolages et réglages avec un petit embout précédemment décrit, un peu loin du domaine nautique donc ...

la navaja dentada es excelente para cortar todo tipo de material, los alicates son a mi parecer la herramienta mas útil y la punta deshace nudos es adecuada y útil para todos los que trabajen con cuerdas

Ich benutze das Messer seit mehreren Jahren. Insgesamt ist die Werkzeugzusammenstellung bord- und alltagsgerecht, es hat die perfekte Größe, die Verarbeitung ist wie gewohnt 1a.
Für manche feine Arbeiten wäre eine kleine, scharfe Klinge hilfreich. 
Großes Minus: Der Marlspieker ist nicht arretierbar. Das nervt, späterstens, wenn mit größerer Kraft ein Knoten aufgebrochen werden muss.
