The XLT is awesome. It is a large size but still usable. It's smaller than the XXL and XAVT which are too big for practical EDC use (like twice the size of this).

For starters, you will not be able to make a full fist around this as your knuckles would be angled (not 90 degrees) if that gives you an idea of handling it. But you can use all the functions and most with comfort and ease. The back-side tools" Hook, Awl, Corkscrew, 3mm flat screwdriver, and Chisel are the only somewhat awkward-to-use use tools but are still very usable.

I couldn't decide between the Champ and Cybertool L (which I cannot find) and this offers everything they do plus 4 more functions.

With that said, there is no Serrated edge or seatbelt cutter, no led light,  no wrench, no doubled tools like in the XXL and XAVT.  But it essentially has all the other tools offered by Victoinox. 

Personally, I would like to see the pharmaceutical spatula, 3mm screwdriver, and fish scaler traded for a light.  And the hook to have the textured file on the spine. And keep everything else.  But those tools are still useful. The combi tool (can oner/bottle opener) would be a way to make it thinner too.

Bottom line, this is a great value. It isn't awkward to carry nor too heavy.  Be it clipped or chained. You'd be pleasantly surprised. If you are shorter than 5'11/6' then maybe you would want to avoid it based on hand size.

Hervorragend wie immer

Great multi tool knife! I've been using mine since 2005. I replaced the toothpick with a fire stick and have substituted the eye glass repair screw driver with a fire ant stick and accompanying kindle. That being said, I was wondering if it would be possible to replace the spatula and wood chisel with a flashlight and compass and replace the current plier with an adjustable plier? I don't know if you do custom builds but the compass, flashlight and bigger pliers would make the XLT the knife dreams are made of!

Immer dabei in der Tasche oder im. Rucksack, ich kann dieses tolle Messer nur empfehlen.
Mann kann’s ja auch in der Hosentasche mitnehmen einfach ein wenig schwer.

Ein Top Begleiter

Ich habe lange überlegt mir das XLT zuzulegen. Entweder hatte ich mein Swisschamp oder mein Cybertool dabei. Das XLT bietet die perfekte Kombination aus diesen beiden Modellen. Anfangs hatte ich etwas Angst wegen der Größe aber ich muss sagen dass diese Angst unbegründet war. Nach einer kurzen Gewöhnungsphase arbeite ich damit mittlerweile ohne Probleme damit. Somit kann ich sagen dass dieses Messer nicht nur etwas für Sammler ist sondern auch benutzt werden möchte :-) Ich habe es immer dabei und bis jetzt konnte ich noch jede Aufgabe damit bewältigen.

Innanzi tutto un coltellino come pochi,magnifico anche con uso gravoso e pesante non risente niente;il filo resiste a tutti i maltrattamenti dei vari lavori niente manutenzione o almeno pochissima lavato asciugato e oliato prima di metterlo via. Complimenti

Super couteau très complet et pas trop gros pour moi qui ai de grandes mains. Le stylo et le porte embouts en font un couteau qui se démarque bien de la plupart des autres 91 mm.

I've had various SA knives over the years, but this one is the best. I occasionally get teased when I get it out to solve a problem, but it is a great problem solving tool which I use literally several times a day. In fact I check my pocket for this before checking for my phone! I came here to order a replacement because its getting tatty, and I feel like treating myself, but after 15 or 20 years of constant use it deserves retirement. Treat your self, you really won't be disappointed!

Excelente producto

Ce couteau est particulièrement bien pensé et remplace facilement la boite à outils. Il est beau, robuste, les finitions sont soignées, l'ajustage est parfait ...Que dire ...c'est du Victorinox , il est fait pour durer ! La garantie à vie concédée par le fabriquant est évidemment un gage de grande qualité. Je recommande ce couteau notamment pour les collectionneurs et les bricoleurs qui ont tendance à éparpiller leurs outils.

I have loved swiss army knives since I saw one on the show Macgyver and all the neat things he did with it. The xlt would make macgyver a god. It has everything. The only bigger knife you can get the xavt is too big and has two of many implements which is not useful. The xlt is still small enough to carry yet has so many functions. I got the sheath for it with compass and stone built into the sheath. It's better than I could ever imagine. Get yoursome today.
