In Deutschland Paragraph-42a-konform.
Groß genug für ein Gürtelholster, klein und leicht genug für die Hosentasche.
Die Verriegelung kommt in Form eines Linerlock zuverlässig und sicher daher.
Die einzelnen Werkzeuge sind gut erreichbar und lassen sich für den dafür gedachten Zweck gefahrlos nutzen.
Durch die traditionell roten Kunststoff-Backen und dem berühmten „Swiss Cross“ auf der Seite ist das SAK weltweit bekannt und 100%ig sozialverträglich.

Very Poor

Polyvalent, avec ce qu'il faut pour se sortir de toutes les situations en promenade ou randonnée, d'excellente facture, fabriqué avec le savoir faire des équipes Victorinox, ce couteau polyvalent m'accompagnera pendant de nombreuses années.

super Messer

Mit den beiden "Trailmaster/-camo" und "Soldatenmesser 08", bin ich eigentlich sehr zufrieden. Es sind sehr solide Messer wo die Klingen, einhändig geöffnet werden können. Allerdings haben diese Messer von Erscheinungsbild her, ein sehr militärisches Aussehen. Als ich eines dieser Messer an einem Anlass hervornahm um eine Bierflasche zu öffnen, wurde ich etwas schief angeschaut. Aus diesem Grund kaufte ich das rote "Trailmaster" das aufgrund der klassischen Erscheinung, einen sehr zivilen friedlichen Eindruck hinterlässt. Als 3-Layer Modelle lassen sich diese 111-er Messer zur Not, auch in einer Hosentasche führen. Ich hingegen benutze die bewährten schwarzen Victorinox Gürteletuis, aus Nylon mit Klettverschluss. Bei Wanderungen führe ich in der Hosentasche  zusätzlich als Backup ein Victorinox "Evogrip S18" oder "Evogrip S17". Ein älteres "Forester" und ein neues "Hunter" welche ich besitze, verfügen noch über den bequemen Klingenentriegelungsschieber in den Griffschalen. Aufgrund der stärkeren Klingen in den neuen Modellen, die neue Entriegelung wahrscheinlich längerfristig die solidere Lösung. Trotzdem ist es schade das Victorinox das ältere Entriegelungssystem, nicht mehr anbietet. Mein Fazit : Das Victorinox "Trailmaster" ist ein grundsolides Messer, dass keinen Wusch offen lässt.

Mejor de lo que esperaba

The Trailmaster/Trekker one-handed opener is a very versatile and well-made SAK.  The 111mm body is the largest of the SAK line and it fills the hand nicely.  The one-hand opening blade is a definite improvement on the nail nick version and the fact that it shares a locking mechanism with the bottle opener/wire stripper/screwdriver gives a feeling of confidence when giving it some hard use.  In the UK, you should not be wandering around with this particular SAK without a valid reason due to that locking mechanism, but I carry it primarily out in the field when shooting and that generally suffices as justification.  Over the years, I have relied on several versions of the SAK to have a handy multi-tool in the pocket or on the belt and my favourite until some time ago was a Mauser Victorinox.  This changed when I was presented with a Huntsman, which has a number of additional functions over the Mauser so it became my go-to SAK (albeit reluctantly, as it was engraved for me as a present).  Both the Huntsman and Mauser have nail nicks for deploying the blades, and they were definitely two-hander openers, so I was really interested to see how the OHT would perform.  The answer is that it an excellent answer to a number of questions!  The build quality is superb.  Of the implements, I use the main blade, the bottle opener and the toothpick most often.  If the Philips screwdriver were a corkscrew, that would be the icing on the cake.  In terms of the price, I think this is fairly set.  As regards how to carry it, you can of course just put it in a pocket, but I bought the Victorinox green nylon pouch and that fits the 111mm and 108mm SAKs perfectly.  In summary, a great multi-function SAK.

Très bon couteau.
J'aime sa grande lame verrouillable lisse donc facile à aiguiser, sa longue scie à bois et le tournevis Phillips, la prise en main ergonomique.
Dommage qu'il manque la petite pince multi-fonctions sinon il serait parfait.

Très utile, j’aime les deux couleurs ! La version camouflage donne envi d’acheter toute la série liée, ce que j’ai fait en tant que collectionneur !

Je l'utilise depuis 5 ans pour jardiner , bricoler et bien sur manger .

This is a great knife for camping, carving, and hunting.  The spear point blade allows for all around camp/hunting/woods tasks, and with ease.  The awl drills holes in wood, punches leather, and strikes a ferro-rod very well.  The locking flat-head screwdriver can be used to pry when needed.  The saw rips through green wood and makes short work of dry wood, although with more effort.  It's lighter than the hercules or workchamp without much functional loss while camping, in my opinion.

Here is why I prefer it over the one-handed trekker:  The thumb hole on the one-handed model makes using the saw uncomfortable.  Whereas on this model, there is no discomfort.

Finally, people have asked "why is the blade lock for left hand use?"  My answer:  if you close the knife face down, as pocket knives should be closed, then deploying the lock with the left thumb while closing the blade with the right palm works perfectly.  In other words, it is designed to be a safe knife.

If I could make one change (and doesn't everyone want to make one change, even to their favorite SAK?), it would be to use the combo can/bottle/screwdriver on one side, and the metal file on the other. Hopefully that would preserve the thinner profile of the knife.

Wonderful Tool for the Woods

Très bon couteau. 
Cependant, comme la grande majorité de cette série, je déplore que les lames soient dentées et non lisses  "plain edge", ce qui facilite grandement l'aiguisage. À ce sujet, beaucoup de ces modèles existent pour le marché US.  Pourquoi pas en Suisse......?

Das Trailmaster ist mein absolutes Lieblingsmesser. Es liegt perfekt in der Hand, hat ein unschlagbares Preis/Leistungsverhältnis. Die Werkzeuge sind ausreichend für Wald, Wandern... ich sag nur EDC. Hab es täglich dabei und möchte es nie mehr missen.
Das beste Victorinox für günstiges Geld.
Als Backup habe ich noch das Deluxe Tinker, wegen der Zange.

Als Anmerkung: Es wäre super wenn es dieses Modell zusätzlich mit einer Schere geben würde. Oder noch besser, das Outrider, allerdings mit Linerlock.

Super Messer

Auf der Suche nach einem Taschenmesser mit in Deutschland legaler Feststellklinge (nur beidhändig zu öffnen) und Säge wurde mir von einem Freund das Trailmaster empfohlen.

Die Klinge ist sehr scharf im Auslieferungszustand und hatte kein seitliches Spiel oder ähnliches. Auch die allgemeine Verarbeitungsqualität ist sehr hoch. Aufgrund der vielen Varianten findet man fast jede Werkzeugkombination.

Die Griffschalen aus Plastik sind nicht sehr griffig im Vergleich zu den Messern mit Gummieinlagen. Leider gab es die Kombination an Werkzeugen und Gummieinlagen nur mit Einhandklinge.
Der Linerlock steht knapp 1mm zu weit vor und stört manchmal, wenn man etwas fester zugreift.
Es wäre schön gewesen, wenn die Säge feststellbar wäre anstatt des breiten Schraubendrehers.
All dies stört aber nicht wirklich.

Esta de mas decir que soy gran fanatico de Victorinox y esta es mi mas reciente adquisicion, desde el prctico despliegue de la hoja principal hasta sus utiles accesorios son de uso practico en mis salidas al campo y la playa....muy util.....y siempre disponible para todo...

Ein grundsolides Messer mit allen notwendigen Funktionen. Es ist sehr gut verarbeitet und in seiner Größe noch Taschenfreundlich. Der Preis für so ein Werkzeug ist unschlagbar gut.

Solides Messer

This is one of the best tool i had, very tempting and pretty big one but i likee it. Strong Sturdy and can easily put into a pocket pouch or Bag. Excellent tools. Feels very safe to get lost in woods with it.

Awesome product

I've owned my Trailmaster since about 2000. It has accompanied me on many hikes and hunting trips. I often carry it as backup to my EDC knife. The locking blade is as solid today as it was when purchased. The saw is amazingly sharp and has proven itself worthy a couple of times, not the least of which when it was used to segment a deer pelvis in the field. The only improvement I can see is with the newer one-handed opening knife blade version.
