If you think you’d be a good fit for Victorinox, send us your documents. We’ll check them and if we feel the same way, we’ll invite you to a trial apprenticeship. This lasts between two and five days, depending on the apprenticeship. During the trial apprenticeship, you can get to know more about your chosen profession, and we’ll get to know you.
You’ll get to know the practical and vocational trainers, other learners and future team colleagues. It’s important to us that you can exchange ideas with different people.
There are vocational and practical trainers for the individual apprenticeships. The vocational trainers are responsible for the overall coordination of the apprenticeship, while the practical trainers train you in your day-to-day work.
Both vocational and practical trainers will meet with you on a regular basis to discuss your level of training and define individual goals in order to support you.
The training and talent development of our apprentices is very important to us. Although we can’t guarantee that our apprentices will be hired, we make every effort to offer them a job once they have successfully completed their training. We are very proud of this commitment.
Depending on the apprenticeship, you’ll have flexible or fixed working hours. These will be explained to you in more detail during the taster session.
Send us your CV with a photo. Tell us what motivates you and why you choose this career? It's best to list all the trial apprenticeships you've done already.
We need all high school certificates.
Please scan all certificates or send us a copy.
If you have completed the “Stellwerk” test, you should send it with your application.
If you have already completed a multicheck in desired profession, please enclose this as well. The multicheck is mandatory for apprenticeships in our technical sector. If you get an apprenticeship at Victorinox, we will refund you the cost of the multicheck.
To apply for a trial apprenticeship, we need a CV as well as all high school certificates. If you already have a desired date for the trial apprenticeship, please let us know straight away.
Depending on the profession, the trial apprenticeship takes place at different times:
Technical areas: January to June
Commercial professions: all year round
That depends on the area of training. Most apprenticeships last 3 years. For technical professions such as polymechanic it’s 4 years.
This varies depending on the training and year of apprenticeship. Typically the breakdown is as follows:
1st and 2nd year of training: 2 days per week
3rd year of training: 1 day; if you do the vocational baccalaureate, another 2 days
4th year of training[TR1]
is there some copy missing here? 4th year seems to be blank [TR1]
Our training begins every year in August. Due to our annual company holidays, apprentices in the technical area start in mid-August.
Depending on the department, there are certain dress codes. In most areas with face-to-face customer contact, you’re expected to dress appropriately and neatly. For example, shorts that are too short, a bare stomach or necklines that are too low are not recommended. In technical areas, we require special professional clothing for your protection. You will receive detailed instructions on this.
In the commercial, IT and retail sectors, English is the most important foreign language, as there are an increasing number of customers and business partners with a different mother tongue. Depending on the field, a good knowledge of French is also an advantage.
We take care that our apprentices are trained not just for their chosen profession, but for the modern world. This includes incorporating training in computer skills as part of all vocational training. This ensures that you can finish your apprenticeship as a well-trained professional with skills that are in high demand. In addition, we offer follow-up solutions after your apprenticeship to support you in the next steps of your career.
