Einfach nur Super

Tolles Messer mit super Entriegelungsmechanismus. vor allem find ich die Säge sehr imposant. 
Was ein bisschen stört ist der Kreuzschraubendreher der nicht nach unten sondern in die Mitte öffnet.
Klar sieht man das auf den Fotos und ich hab es mir trotzdem gekauft. Aber ich glaube es wäre sinnvoller wenn es sich nach unten klappen ließe.
Man muss aber dazu sagen dass die Kreuz- Konstruktion des Schraubendrehers echt sehr gut von den Winkeln und der Größe ist. Dieser passt einfach auf die meisten Kreuzschnlitzschrauben.

Starkes Stück

Avec un couteau suisse Victorinox, y'a pas de surprise. C'est ultra fonctionnel, simple pratique.
Belles lames facilement deployables.
La lame simple coupe comme un rasoir, la lame scie coupe comme.... une tronçonneuse 😁.
Et débloquer la lame pour la replier se fait par pression sur le petit logo Discret Victorinox, petit détail amusant.
rien à redire comme d'habitude.

Die Säge und das Messer sind in der 91mm Version schon wirklich klasse. Aber in dieser Größe unschlagbar. Welch ein praktischer Helfer in einem sehr ansprechendem Design.

Super

Bought to replace a Victorinox Forester which itself is a superb Swiss army knife and has been of great use to me for over 10 years. There were just a few tweaks I wanted to make when looking for a new knife:

- straight edged blade rather than part serrated
- Phillips screwdriver
- toothpick and tweezers

as well as a few features that I liked about the Forester:

- good wood saw
- large, locking blade
- one handed opening

It came down to a choice between the Ranger 78 and the locksmith, both of which had everything I was looking for. I opted for the 78 as it is slightly larger and you can unlock the blade and close it without putting your fingers in harm's way. 

First impressions are great. Really well made, looks great, everything works as expected, pretty much the perfect pocket knife for me. Blade is very sharp, wood saw works great, the larger of the two flat head screwdrivers locks in place when you apply pressure, pressing the Victorinox symbol to release the blade lock works well. The only two very minor drawbacks - it's a fair bit heavier/bulkier than the Forester and the one handed opening doesn't work quite as easily.  

Overall: superb, very happy with my choice!

Near perfect upgrade

This Ranger 78 is very much a workhorse. It's not subtle. It just gets stuff done. 

The grip is pretty awesome IMO. A very nice feature I'd like to see more of in the future. 

The blade itself is large, sturdy, and holds an edge particularly well for a SAK. It's also a locking blade, which is unusual for SAKs, but quite nice. The release is opened via depressing the actual SAK symbol on the handle. I've used this blade for battening wood, and also have used the four cut system (one cut per cardinal direction around the trunk) to actually cut down small dead standing trees. Works great. Plus general camp tasks. The one hand open grip is nice, btw 

The saw is pretty efficient. It's definitely built for durability over flexibility, but is also very sharp and can chew through wood. Unlike the saw on the mid sized SAKs, this one is large enough to get enough friction to not really grab too much when sawing. As a rule, if the wood is similar to or smaller in diameter than the blade is long, this saw will work like a champ. The back can be used with a fire steel as well.

The driver/can opener/bottle opener/wire stripper duo is a classic and always useful.

This one also features the awl, an all around great drill, which is probably how you'll use it. And, an actual philips head. The angle can maybe be awkward, but it's a great tool.

The toothpick and tweezers pretty much stay where they are. Without modifying the inside of the scales, you won't be able to add something like a Tortoise Gear fire steel. They just don't fit all the way.

Anyway, this is my, 'I plan to be out hiking/camping for a while, and/or in more remote areas' addition to my kit as well as something I'll take on construction sites with me. Very versatile in a few settings.

Super Preis Leistung Verhältnis. Das Messer ist handlich, liegt gut in der Hand und wie von Victorinox gewöhnt von bester Qualität.

Chouette couteau de poche bien équipé. Cependant le manche en plastique léger sonne peu qualitatif. Et c'est dommage, ça gâche l'ensemble.
Ça reste un bon couteau de poche bien équipé, mais au prix, et notamment de Victorinox je ne m'attendais pas à un manche "cheap"

Ich bin Fan von victorinox Produkten sein über 20 Jahren. Die Taschenmesser haben mich niemals enttäuscht. Ich bin ein Naturfreak und habe mit den Messern schon alles gemacht. Absolute spitzenprodukte.

Dieses Messer ist qualitativ hochwertig. Die grosse Klinge lässt sich allerdings sehr schwer entsperren  und schliessen.

This is the best knife I've ever seen for the Australian country and lifestyle. It took a while for us to find out about the new rangergrip series out here but I can't tell you how great it is now I have. I'm even getting one for my 12yr old son as a birthday present so he stops "borrowing" mine. Congratulations on making the perfect sak for Aussies

To make this knife perfect get rid of saw and replace it with a scissor

Im a city guy  with no use for a saw.  If it had a scissor it would sell like crazy

Great Knife BUT NOT PERFECT

Imponierende Grösse, das trotzdem gut in der Hand liegt.Die Arretierung der Klinge finde ich Super gelöst. Farblich hätte ich gerne mehr Auswahl gehabt. 
Ich würde sogar soweit gehen und vorschlagen das man ein Sackmesser nach seinen persönlichen Wünschen und Vorstellungen machen lassen kann. (zum gleichen Preis, versteht sich ;  )

en richtige Schwizer hätts.. so e Messer.

Wie das Vorgänger-Modell von Wenger (mit schwarzer Hartschale) lässt sich das Messer seidenweich und problemlos öffnen. Etwas ungewohnt erscheint der gummierte Griff, welcher beim Schliessen des Messers etwas nachgibt und das Messer weniger robust erscheinen lässt als sein Vorgänger. Auch muss bei meinem Modell das „Schweizer Wappen“ aus Plastik beim Schliessen stärker nach innen gedrückt werden als beim Vorgänger. Schon nach kurzem Gebrauch lassen sich daher Spuren des Fingernagels auf dem  „Schweizer Wappen“ erkennen. Aber dies sind kleine Details, welche nur im direkten Vergleich auffallen. Im Gebrauch dürfte dies nur bei klammen Fingern allenfalls zum Nachteil gereichen. Sonst ist das Modell wie gewohnt ein zuverlässiger und gut verarbeiteter Begleiter – und falls ein Flaschenöffner benötigt wird, gibt’s ja noch den Ranger Grip 79 in meiner Sammlung.

Durch seine Grösse lassen sich auch dicke Gegenstände mühelos bearbeiten. Das Messer ist sauber verarbeitet und robust, wie man es von Schweizerqualität erwartet.

Robust und praktisch

Mi primera Victorinox y después de la experiencia puedo afirmar que no será la única.

Sus materiales y construcción son sobresalientes. Sus funcionalidades únicas. Fácilmente me permitió dejar en casa mi multiherramienta y mi cuchillo.

Con la RangerGrip 78 no necesito más.

Simplemente perfecta

El tamaño de la hoja, el bloqueo y las cachas de dos componentes son muy buenos, pero la apertura a una mano es casi exclusiva para diestros ya que la posición del destapador dificulta hacerlo con la izquierda.
