Hace unos trea años me regalaron una Spartan. Desde entonces es rara la ocación en la que salgo de mi casa son ella en el bolsillo... y vaya que ha sido útil cuando la he necesitado. 

Desde el uso de las cuchillas para tareas como apertura de paquetes o simple cuchillo para cuando como en la calle, los destornilladores, abretlatas, destapador de botellas y pelacables... no hay herramienta que no haya usado en más de una oportunidad. Incluyendo el saca-corcho que resulta fenomenal para soltar esos nudos difíciles (este punto es importante para quienes están enstre esta y la Tinker). 

En fin, es la nevaja escencial para el uso diario (EDC).

This knife is the descendant of the Officer line which was my grandfather's favourite for as long as I knew him. I can personally attest to the quality and longevity of these tools as he used his for over 30 years and I continued using it after I inherited it for several more years until I bought this one from a local shop a few years ago. The small blade is immensely useful, especially in situations where whipping out the main one might be a little inappropriate. I almost prefer the can opener over a normal one and the bottle opener is an excellent pry tool. If you find yourself missing the scissors and nail file (as I did) pair this with a Classic SD on your keyring and you will never be caught unprepared again.

Your best friend for life

Very good all rounder knive, very handy during the day and I have used it alot and would've given it 5 stars if it weren't for one thing I noticed just to the side of the corkscrew which is that the Spartan has a whole for a pin but doesn't come with a pin included which is not the end of the world of course but it makes the setup feel a little incomplete almost like receiving a Victorinox knife with an empty tootpick or tweezer slot, other than that it is a perfect EDC knife and I would highly recommend buying it if it matches your need.

To me this is exactly what a SAK should be. When I think of a swiss army knife its the Spartan that comes to mind. I got the white Spartan as a gift and it is beautiful. I have gotten many compliments on it. I am not a big outdoorsman so I dont need a saw or many of the other tools that the bigger SAKs come with. I use the small blade for most things and save the big one for times when I need to do some serious cutting. I added the screwdriver to the corkscrew that comes in handy. I often find uses for the tweezers. I use the toothpick for many things other than cleaning between my teeth.

Well, I received my first Victorinox as a New Year gift about 15 years ago. As you understand, it was Spartan. Light, little, well made, I loved it and used a lot. 
I don’t even know, how it survived everything, that happened with it. 
It helped me overcome countless number of challenges and accompanied me in mountains, kayaking, field, city, bike etc and etc.
And I used it with imagination. But I always was wondering, why do Victorinox say, that key ring is an instrument, when it is a key ring. 
And one day I got I was wrong. 
Me and my fiancé went to the sea and visited a beach club. And suddenly my girl says, that she won’t swim as her top is out of order. The cord supporting bra wasn’t attached to the bra. There should be something - a ring or something like that. And it broke. Or lost, I don’t remember. 
But I wanted to swim with my fiancé. And I started thinking a lot. But I had nothing but cell phone, wallet and Spartan in my shorts. 
I looked at the key ring from my Spartan and wondered if I can use it to repair the top.
It wasn’t easy, but I did it. 
The day was saved, I was a hero. 
It was the year we married and wife said that moment she understood I am a reliable man. 
Spartans main blade is already drained, so I care of it and don’t use it a lot. But one day I will tell my kids this story)

30 años como usuario activo de la marca y de la Spartan te digo que:

1. Con la Spartan obtienes mucho en 91mm y 2 capas: incluyendo 1 destornillador plano de 6mm y 1 destornillador que sirve por igual a plano 3mm y Phillips a partir del #2 en el abrelatas (lo he usado cientos de veces así, y sí funciona); antes lo explicaban en el tríptico con el que se vendía, no sé porqué ya no viene. 

2. Sus 91mm y sus 2 capas son la medida ideal de bolsillo, muy portable, muy ligera y nada voluminosa, no se va a notar en tu bolsillo. Se adapta a cualquier tamaño de manos, es muy amigable a la vista y la longitud de la hoja principal tiene 60mm de filo útil para cualquier corte que se presente en tu día a día.

3. Victorinox es aún de las marcas de la vieja escuela, respaldan sus productos con óptima calidad, con garantía de por vida y un servicio al cliente que, en México, es inmejorable.

4. Se afilan muy fácilmente y retiene muy bien el filo; con práctica y casi cualquier afilador o piedra comercial obtienes filos casi de fabrica.

5. Ya hay muchos accesorios periféricos que le suman muchas funciones, utilidades y color (agregué a la mía -cachas camuflaje- un mini destornillador, cordón, alfiler, palillo y pinzas en verde brillante, todo de la marca) y se ve increíble.

De lunes a jueves en oficina no necesitas nada más.

This is my second Spartan, I still use my other and had it for over 15yrs, its had some damage losing its red side but that was my fault, everything else is still perfect (it might have been known by a different name back then) would be good if replacement sides can be purchased.

Mein EDC für viele Jahre

This is my second Victorinox SAK. It has the basic tools --- reminiscent of the first SAK.  The main and backup blades are really sharp.  The slender characteristic of the Spartan makes it an ideal everyday pocket carry. Superb quality!

Recibí mi Spartan como regalo de navidad y la cargo conmigo todo el tiempo. Es una parte esencial de lo que cargo todos los días conmigo (EDC): Cómoda, portátil, bien construida y resuelve en las situaciones en las que me toca usarla. 

Las navajas son filosas y más de una vez, por descuido, he terminado con cortes menores en los dedos. Los destornilladores hacen muy bien el trabajo y hasta el saca corchos me ha servido para desatar alguno que otro nudo.

Perfecta para EDC

My first was what would now be a Ranger, in 1983. Loved making walking sticks for my grandparents, with all the engravings and carvings etc. All done with my Swissie. Years later there was Leatherman... and I invested in the heavy duty pliers-based multitool. With knife laws being what they are now, and seeing some really cool little add-on gadgets you get now (please stock the FireAnt & FireFly permenently), I got my first Swissie for years: this Spartan. The basic model that doesn't leave me without the Awl or the Cork Screw. Thin & light and 'innocent looking'. Handy for food prep and unpacking at work.
I can say that the old saying, "They don't make them like they used to", doesn't apply here. There is no more 'double-jointed' blades that can't take too much pressure during deeper cuts. The big Screw Driver has a handy stop at 90 degrees. Love the tools in the scales (why can't they all have the Plus option all the time?) To me, they seem more corrosion-resistant, smoother and more 'drum tight' than my '80's one. All I can say is, it won't be long before I get my hands on a Ranger again, and replay some childhood memories out in the woods...

Get into Victorinox World

The Spartan is very similar to the Tinker (small), but it's a must have for every collector. If you're not a collector, the Spartan is almost a perfect EDC. I prefer my SAKs to have the scissors but not everyone wants/needs a scissors in their EDC. If you won't use the scissors, then your choice between Spartan and Tinker boils down to preference... corkscrew vs screwdriver. I'm not a huge fan of the perpendicular screwdriver so I prefer the corkscrew, which comes in handy for many things beyond opening a bottle of wine. The corkscrew also allows you to add-on the tiny flathead screwdriver to repair your eyeglasses, which is a huge bonus for me. So I would take the Spartan over Tinker any day. The Spartan gives you a main blade for meal prep, a small blade for boxes and letters, plus the multi-tool layer for opening cans and lifting bottle caps. And for the price, the Spartan is a no-brainer. You won't regret buying this for yourself or as a gift for a loved one.

J'ai acheté le couteau s'approchant le plus de celui qui m'a été offert en 1982 et que j'utilise tous les jours, celui-ci a en plus les pincettes et le cure dents ainsi que des coques bleu transparente.
Ce couteau est vraiment très pratique et indestructible.

Hace unos días compré dos navajas apartan con grabados, en cuanto al envío no tuve ningún problema, la verdad llegó muy rápido, pero en el momento de sacar las navajas para revisarlas veo que las cachas están muy ralladas, y es por lado y lado, me imagino que es por la máquina que utilizan para el grabado, me parece una total falta de respeto que no se toman el trabajo de hacer algo por lo que uno está pagando de manera correcta y me parece todavía más falta de respeto que no se tomen el trabajo de revisar que el trabajo quede bien hecho, la verdad las navajas no están caras pero tampoco me las están regalando y me parece una total falta de seriedad que envíen un producto en tan malas condiciones, la verdad recomiendo muchísimo los productos, son de muy buena calidad, lo que NO RECOMIENDO, es el servicio de grabado, las iba a utilizar pa a un regalo y la verdad prefiero invertir más dinero en otro regalo que entregar esas navajas en tan malas condiciones.

He comprado una SPARTAN, navaja legendaria que deriva directamente de la antigua navaja del oficial. Sus 12 funciones son ideales para el EDC y su calidad es magnífica. Muy recomendable para todo tipo de actividad y muy potable. Sus puntos mas altos son los filos de sus hojas, y los destornilladores incluidos en los abridores. Ademas posee una calidad en el acero mas que excelente y eterna (hace mas de 20 años que llevo una SAK conmigo).  No puedo ser muy objetivo con una compañera de casi toda mi vida y tampoco puedo encontrar algo malo.

Tão leve que chego a esquecer dele no bolso, mas quando solicitado emprega toda a sua qualidade em ferramentas que são adequadas para o dia a dia. De um simples descascar de um fio, ao corte de um fino queijo regado a um bom vinho. Ele sempre está a postos.

Metal spacers behind scales are badly, pitted, i.e visible pin holes in the metal, it can be seen and felt on all sides. Really very Poor finishing and after sales communication was the worst! I would NOT recommend this product or deal with this company again.

Feels great in the hand

I own several Victorinox knives.  I began carrying a pocket knife as an 8-year old Cub Scout.  I have carried the Spartan almost every day since I was 18.  I am now 66-years old.  My other Victorinox knives are used and carried for special purposes, and also always meet or exceed my high expectations.  But my Spartan is always in my pocket.  I have given both my daughters Victorinox knives (Spartans).  For everyday it is an invaluable companion.  Whether opening a bottle of wine at a party where the host neglected to procure a corkscrew (It happened), or a camping trip where everyone forgot a can opener. to pulling a splinter out of your finger while on a mountain hike, the Spartan is there.  Buy one and keep it in your pocket.

Black Spartan

I received the Spartan as a present back in 2008. It has served me great ever since then, from opening bottles, cans, used as a knife for carving and cutting in my dorm room, as a screwdriver, a corkscrew, you name it. Doesn't break, easy to clean, and durable. The tweezers proved to be extremely precise and durable, helped me remove a bunch of pesky thorns.

Solides Produkt quasi der Allrounder

Love the size, disappears in the pocket. I like it vs the tinker since the can opener on both knives can be used to turn phillips screws. Being stuck without a corkscrew when you need one seems worse than without a screwdriver in my opinion.

Recently got this knife because I liked the new silver  "mechanical look" of the handle. I already knew that the knife and other components would have no problems. I was correct. The Spartan is my go to knife for daily use. I have used this model for over twenty-five years and none [of the several Spartans that I own]  have ever exhibited any type of problem. The craftsmanship of the Spartan has remained uncompromising : solid, strong and dependable over the years from my first one to this cool looking Silver Tech .

Qualität und Preis hervorragend

I've owned many Swiss Army Knives. Most have been better than anticipated. The Spartan is no exception. Both blades came very sharp, and lockup is perfect. No blade play at all. Used the can opener and it's better than other brands by far. All of the other tools work as expected. The camouflage scales look very nice and are a good change of pace from the norm. Overall, I love this knife and would recommend it to anyone!
