Excellent quality as you would expect from Victorinox and great design overall. I would give this knife a 5 star rating, however, I didn’t realise that the way in which it is designed, requires you to open the scissors before you can get the cross head screw driver out. Likewise you can not close the screw driver with the scissors already closed in the knife body. This is really quite clunky and not the simplest of actions that I would expect from Victorinox. If I had known this I would have possibly bought a different model.

Rectification mal venue

L’outrider est mon couteau suisse préféré (j’en  possède 8) j’aime la prise en main de ce beau couteau qui reste simple mais complet.

Ein sehr schönes Messer welchs gut in der Hand liegt. Besonders gut der Feststellmechanismus für die Klinge und Flaschenöffner. Würde mir eine Ahle mit Loch wünschen, dann wäre das Messer perfekt.

Ich besitze das Messer nun schon seit mehreren Monaten und habe es jeden Tag dabei. Es ist ein super Messer und mit den ganzen Werkzeugen extrem vielseitig einsetzbar. Allerdings gibt es auch einen Punkt daran der mich sehr stört . Nämlich die Klingenverriegelung. Mein Vater hat das Vorgängermodell welches noch einen kleinen grauen Schieber, zum Entriegeln der Klinge, an der Seite hat. Dieses Modell hat nun leider eine Platinenveriegelung welche ich persönlich als ziemlich unpraktisch erachte. Alles in allem ist es aber dennoch ein sehr gutes Messer.

Sehr gut allerdings nicht besser als der Vorgänger

I recently purchased this one because although I fell in love with my trekker, it was missing something. I mulled it over for quite some time, and finally decided on this over the Hercules and I'm glad I did. This one is the perfect size and feels great in the hand, and the toolset is akin to the huntsman. I went an cut a stick and what found was, this thing has amazing cutting power. Absolutely at home in the woods, around town, and around the house. If you ( like me ) have been somewhat let down by a 91mm model before, trust me when I say this a whole other animal. Every tool on this one is useful and does it's job well. Can't recommend it enough.

Excellent toolset

Comme tous les objet Victorinox, on est jamais déçu. Ce couteau offre un bon compromis encombrement / outillage. La scie et le ciseau sont des outils très pratique et très performants. La lame est d'une taille généreuse et bloquante, l'utilisation est donc bien sécurisé.
Un outil indispensable pour sortir en nature.

Meiner Meinung nach das beste Victorinox Modell das es gibt und mein täglicher Begleiter in der Hosentasche. Alle wichtigen Werkzeuge sind in großer Ausführung vorhanden und es liegt super in der Hand.

Bello e comodo, il manico ergonomico aiuta davvero. 4 stelle e non 5 per due motivi il logo che è verniciato e non in metallo e il cacciaviti a stella che mi sembra un po' piccolo, per il resto fatto veramente bene❤️

Habe mein altes Victorinox-Messer verloren. Das jetzt neue ist noch einen Tick besser, weil größer und mehr Funktionen. Bin absolut zufrieden. Es ist mein ständiger Begleiter.

Super funktionell in höchster Qualität

The outrider is an amazing pocket knife that meets all of my needs, and the black colour is simply subliminal! However, some of the tools could use more lubrication, such as the Phllips screwdriver that's tucked underneath the Victorinox Scissor, it's harder to open compared to the other tools. On the other hand, the Reamer, Puncher is kinda hard to open as well, it often broke parts of my finger nail. For such a dangerous tool, you should make it slightly looser for easier open. Even though I understand you make it tighter so it doesn't flung out and hurt the user.

This is my 4th victorinox. I have the trekker which is a little bare bones, the swisschamp which is an awesome collection of if you don't need a lot of knife and the farmer x alox which is my casual pocket knife and the most attractive. For me I love the outrider for the in line Phillips head, the scissors, the large locking blade and the locking screwdriver with the saw being the only tool I'll very rarely use. It came down to this and the skipper but I use the scissors 10 to 1 over the pliers. If they would replace the saw that I'll probably never use with the pliers on the outrider it would be perfect! I say this is the best tool set on a large pocket knife because I question the the size and weight of the Hercules and workchamp still counting as pocket knives and not getting in to Leatherman multitool range. I like this one so much I tracked down the blue Russian variant and bought it also.

Déjà possesseur de ce qui doit en être la 1ère version (achat de la fin des années 80 ou du début des années 90) j'avais apprécié:
- le cran d'arrêt sur la lame, 
- la grande scie,
- les ciseaux.
- l'ouvre-boîte, certainement le meilleur au monde 
- le poinçon, acéré.

Depuis, devenu complétement adulte, et étant Français, je me suis rendu compte du caractère indispensable du tire-bouchon.

De même, tout bricoleur a besoin d'un poinçon pour percer des trous, ou faire des avants-trous dans du bois avant d'y mettre une vis.

L'ouvre-boîte est le seul que j'utilise depuis toujours, y compris à la maison.

Et les 2 tournevis plats sont régulièrement mis à contribution.

À l'époque, ce couteau était devenu le complément idéal de ma pince Leatherman, la toute première, dont les inconvénients étaient nombreux:
- pas de verrouillage des outils,
- pas de ciseaux, 
- pas de scie à bois,
- un ouvre-boîtes d'une lenteur exaspérante,
- pas de tire-bouchon.

Les 2 faisaient la paire, en sorties terrain ou en OPEX.

Malgré les améliorations apportées par les nouvelles générations de pinces, quelle que soit la marque, ce couteau en reste le complément indispensable (pour moi, en tout cas), notamment pour:

- les ciseaux (bien plus grands que ceux des pinces Leatherman Wave et Blast (sans parler des ciseaux des pinces Gerber), et de même taille que ceux de la pince Leatherman Surge),
- la scie à bois (là encore, bien plus grande que tout ce qu'on peut trouver ailleurs),
- l'ouvre-boîte (d'une efficacité redoutable, bat à plate-couture celui de Leatherman),
- le tire-bouchon,
- le poinçon (absent de nombreuses pinces polyvalentes),

L'ajout d'un blocage sur le gros tournevis est une amélioration notable, ainsi que l'ajout du tournevis cruciforme long.

Mais si la 1ère version m'avait coûté 220 francs (français), soit 33,50 €, cette version-ci coûte exactement le double, 30 ans plus tard. Tout est bien sûr relatif.

Une très bonne évolution, mais 2 x plus chère

Ein Traum von einem Messer, hat für mich definitiv alles dabei was ich für den Tag so benötige. Egal ob Outdoor, Stadt oder Land du kannst aus dem Haus gehen und man hat alles dabei. Wunderbar handlich, robust, zuverlässig und trozdem vom Gewicht her top. Die grosse Klinge schneidet alles wunderbar und das restliche Zubehör ist sauber verarbeitet! Ich kann sagen das es für mich nichts besseres gibt. Top EDC!!!

Ein Messer für alles :-)

I've always been impressed by the design and quality of the Swiss army knives, having had a smaller one in the past, I knew exactly which tools I used and which I didn't. The outrider looked like the perfect option and I couldn't be happier with it. 
I have owned it for over a year now and it has been by my side through many an adventure. I've used it for everything from cutting my nails to skinning deer. And now after the 3rd deer I feel impressed enough to write a review. 
The blade although harder to sharpen holds an edge very well.
Stand out features for me are the larger locking blade, the amazingly good scissors, and the can opener. Not to mention the saviour bottle opener, you never know when someone is going to show up with a bottle of wine and no means to get at the goods inside. 
The only thing I'd change is to swap the position of the bottle opener for that of the can opener so the can opener would have the locking feature.

I decided to purchase this knife. It’s well worth the money... & it’s a solid knife. The blade locks, which I like a lot... & it has a sizable saw. Mit dem neu gekauften schwarzen "Outrider" habe ich nun bereits 6 Messer dieser Grösse. Die 111-Serie ist meiner Ansicht nach die oberste Grenze, für ein Taschenmesser. Wer ein grösseres Messer  will, sollte gleich eines mit fester Klinge kaufen. Ein absolutes Muss ist bei dieser Serie die Säge, die Schere ist zwar auch nützlich aber nicht unbedingt dringend. Mir gefällt auch der eingebaute Kreuzschraubenzieher. Wenn ich Wandern gehe habe ich meist ein "Forester" oder "Hunter" in der Gürteltasche, in der Hosentasche das "Evolution Grip S18". Lange habe ich gezögert das Victorinox "Outrider" zu kaufen. Es hat mich jedoch angelacht, so dass ich es nun kaufte. Wer ein grosses Messer mit nützlichen Werkzeugen sucht, ist mit dem "Outrider" sehr gut bedient.

Robuste, pratique. Indispensable ! Petit bémol : j'aurais préféré un choix plus grand de coloris pour ce modèle.

Bon couteau suisse, la robustesse est au rendez-vous, comme toujours, léger bémol pour le cran d'arrêt de la lame qui aurait été plus intuitive dans l'autre sens (on se sent comme un gaucher). Ciseaux et scie au top comme toujours!

Trotz grosser Funktionalität sehr handlich. Öffnen der einzelnen Werkzeuge geht leicht. Die vielseitigen Nutzungsmöglichkeiten machen sehr viel Spass. Die Verarbeitungsqualität überzeugt.

Qualitativ hochstehendes praktisches Werkzeug

Schere, Säge, nach §42a in Deutschland legale Zweihand-Feststellklinge. Top Qualität und Verarbeitung viele nette extras, wie die der lange Philips-Schraubenzieher. Es fehlen nur Details, wie der kleine Schraubenzieher im Korkenzieher und ein Steckplatz für sowie eine Stecknadel. Und es ist halt schon eher ein großes Messer für die Jackentasche.

Fast alles dabei

Vor ca. 15 Jahren wurde mir das silbrige Schweizer Armee Sackmesser zu klein, also habe ich in das schwarze Outrider investiert.

Auch dieses ein typisches Victorinox Produkt, unverwüstlich, alltagstauglich, verkraftet grobe Arbeiten und lässt feine Arbeiten zu.

Dieses Sackmesser leistet mir immer wieder seine Dienste: Die Säge ist top- damit habe ich schon 5 cm dicke Eichenäste (hart!) zersägt. Das Messer ist auch bei Skitouren dabei: Im Notfall kann ich damit z.B. eine Bindung härter / weicher einstellen.
