I truly desire a pair of pliers instead of a saw. Would you consider replacing the saw with a pair of pliers? I am even willing to pay for the replacement.

Pliers are almost indispensable for me. They prove incredibly useful for pinching and pulling objects that are too small for my frail fingers or when my fingernails struggle to grasp things.

I am surprised that with aging, I have started using tools that I hardly used before, such as a pair of scissors. My fingers are no longer strong enough to rip open bags, like a bag of potato chips.

While pocket knives with pliers exist, they are mostly too bulky or combinations of tools that do not suit me. As a traveler in my 60s, I prefer to carry as light as possible due to the changes in my age, strength, and the diminished fitness of my feet. Additionally, my fingers no longer possess the agility of my younger days.

The tools I use most frequently, in order of priority, are: 1. scissors, 2. a larger blade, 3. a reamer, 4. a smaller knife, and 5. a ring to attach a cord for easy retrieval of the knife from my bag. If I had pliers, they would rank as my third most used tool.

While I have owned and used items such as can and bottle openers with screw functions in the past, they are not used as frequently. I have never found a need for a saw during my travels, which primarily involve visiting cities and rural areas rather than camping. Similarly, a hook, once useful in my younger days, is now attached to my backpack or sling bag to avoid carrying it by hand, especially when shopping or dealing with string-tied boxes.

Only one wish: Pliers instead of a Saw, and let's dub it an urban traveler

This is a beautiful Swiss Army knife which cost £49.50 including postage.
I ordered it for my 7 year old grandson for Christmas 
On receiving it I decided he was too young to own it.
I used the enclosed return label and paid £7.50 to return it by post. 
The parcel has been returned with part of the address crossed out.

Why was my knife returned?

I bought Huntsman as my first multitool, and it did not disappoint!
It has a sufficient variety of tools for me. 
Huntsman can come in handy in variety of situations.

I mainly use this tool for when I travel. The only feature I wish I had with it is a ruler. Other than that, everything is excellent. 

I am planning to go camping and I will definitely take my Huntsman with me.

If it's your first time buying a multitool, I strongly believe that Huntsman is a perfect place to start.

A multitool with sufficient functions

I had a version of this knife since 2006. Unfortunately, it was confiscated by airport security. Just bought a new one - and the drop in quality is astonishing. No mini screwdriver, sections between tools are made either from tin or aluminum foil -- it used to be steel. You could see through the tool when you look from a side - it was not like this on an old version :(

Cela est totalement subjectif, mais c'est à mon sens LE couteau suisse.
Le choix d'un couteau suisse n'est jamais simple, celui-là a tout ce dont j'ai besoin : je ne me suis jamais dit "il lui manque quelque chose" tout comme je ne l'ai jamais trouvé trop gros ou lourd.

Si je ne devais en garder qu'un seul, ça serait lui, sans aucune hésitation. 

En plus vous pouvez le personnaliser, que demander de plus ?

Je le possède depuis plus de 15 ans, je l'aurai encore dans 15 ans.

J'ai reçu par ailleurs un accueil charmant de la part du gérant du magasin lyonnais que j'ai appelé pour avoir certaines précisions, ainsi que de la part du siège à Paris, que je tiens également à remercier.

Ceci est un cadeau pour mes petits-enfants, j’en ai commandé deux. Malheureusement, ils ont perdu tout intérêt car une de mes petites-filles s’est directement coupée et l’autre n’arrivait pas à ouvrir chaque ustensile. Existe-t-il un objet pour aider à sortir tous les accessoires ? J’ai vu qu’il y a un petit compartiment dans la pochette, est-ce que c’est pour y mettre un « facilitateur » d’ouverture ?

Genau die richtigen Funktionen. Passt noch gut in die Hosentasche. Da fühlt man sich wie MacGyver (fast). Tolles Produkt. Nur für den Allzweckhaken könnte man einen besseren Ausklappmechanismus erfinden, geht für mich sehr schwer mit dem Fingernagel (geht aber).

I ordered a huntsman to give to my son for Christmas. This was going to be his first pocket knife and something he would have his entire life. I had his name engraved on one side and a small four word phrase that he and I use on the other side. Or so I thought. When the knife was delivered it only had his name on it. I called to see what could be done and was told that I ordered it with just his name, even though there is no confirmation that I received stating so. I voiced my dissatisfaction and was told that "since it wasn't their fault, I could buy another knife with a 10% discount". I will never buy another product from this company every again.

Engraving is disappointing

I've had a Huntsman for more than 25 years, and I've used every feature, except for the hook. 
The hook feels like a "filler feature", and a philips head screwdriver would have been more useful.

All in all a very useful balanced tool with most of the commonly needed options, without being too big as to be impractical. Swiss Champ I'm looking at you!

I've upgraded mine to also have a glasses screwdriver in the corkscrew.

Das Messer ist praktisch und sehr schön. Leider kam jedoch mein personalisiertes scale mit einer Schramme und kleinen Kratzern. Das ist für mich egal da es bei mir eh mit Schlüssel und allem möglichen in der Tasche ist, aber eigentlich will man ein intaktes Messer bekommen

Fast perfekt

Taschenmesser und Gürteltasche entsprechen der erwarteten hohen Qualität und wurden wie angekündigt geliefert.
Eine kleine Enttäuschung waren die vielen kleinen Kratzer auf den schwarzen Griffschalen. Nichts was nicht auch als leichte Gebrauchsspuren durchgehen würde. Es war aber ein Geschenk und da hat man es, zumindest fürs Auspacken, gerne makellos.

Was mich immer wieder überrascht ist der Stahl den Victorinox nutzt. Ich habe mit dem Messer des öfteren Dosen in kleine Teelichtlaternen umfunktioniert. Keine Ausbrüche, garnichts, und trotzdem sehr einfach zu schärfen.

Por todos los años de mi vida adulta he llevado conmigo una navaja Victorinox.
A veces he extraviado alguna pero siempre he vuelto a tenerla en mi bolsillo.
Con el paso del tiempo, solo la seguridad en los aviones ha conseguido alejarlas de mi.
Y a pesar de no ser un aventurero 100%, siempre he andado en la naturaleza y esta navaja me ha acompañado de muchas maneras, desde sacar una astilla de mi mano con su pinza, hasta cortar ramas de árboles con su inmejorable serrucho, de increíble diseño, que requiere poco esfuerzo para cortar.
Recién mi esposa me pidió pelar unos zuccini (zapallitos italianos) y la hoja con su magnífico filo, me ayudó a hacer la tarea sin demora.
Algunas amistades al saber que me gusta la navaja suiza, me han regalado otra, de modo que tengo cuatro (una que siempre uso, y tres de repuesto! que felicidad)

Ich habe es mir für den Outdoor Bereich gekauft um alle kleinen Schnitzarbeiten als auch die Essenzubereitung verrichten zu können, es hat sehr nützliche Funktionen, eine Top Qualität und liegt gut in der Hand. Having had my own Swiss Army knife for over 30 years, and having still the original products on it, it is no wonder I have now bought the Huntsman for my daughter’s birthday and her first knife, and I am sure she will enjoy the use of this knife as much as I have mine.

The Huntsman is similar to the models I have carried for 50 years. It maintains the beautiful Swiss quality, but it feels more difficult to open and harder to work with—perhaps it's just that I'm getting old, but this is virtually impossible for me to open without assistance. How can I enjoy what I know to be a beautiful pocket knife when I can't even open it?

For me it’s the king. Loads of tools. Has everything a Leatherman or gerber has (minus the pliers obviously) plus much more and in a small package. 
Only downsides that stupid ‘multi function’ hook. It has no purpose. If it has be on there please use the one with the integrated nail file from the compact.

I have been using my huntsman for over 10 years now and this is the one constant throughout all my ventures into the wild - be it the dense hot jungles of India, the Nordic woodlands and mountains or the unforgiving Himalayan hikes. 

The most useful tools for me personally have been the knife, saw, scissors, can opener and awl. Recently i have upgraded the fireant kit to this tool and augmented its functionality. 

The testament of my recommendation for this product is that i have gifted it to most of my hiking buddies and everyone loves it. 

Suggestions - bring back the blue colour version - though most of us have custom scales, blue would be a good colour for wilderness explorations as it is easier to find. 

Please never retire it!

Le Huntsman est un très bon couteau qui possède les outils de base d'un couteau suisse. Je possède le mien depuis juin 2022 et il m'a déjà bien servi.

In my view, The Huntsman is ideal for anytime you're hiking or in a generally more outdoors setting. It's pretty lightweight considering all its features, and is well thought out overall. Also fits easily in a pocket and is fairly unobtrusive, especially with the addition of a pocket clip (I recommend Key Smart).

The two knives are both pretty standard drop point SAK fare. I actually use the small knife for eating fruit and such. The larger blade I use for camp tasks typically. Both hold an edge well and are easy to sharpen. For some reason, the smaller blade is always just a little sharper than the big one.

I've used the saw a few times. Any woid which has a diameter roughly equal to the saw blades length is a good candidate for using this saw. In my opinion, although crazy sharp, it's really built for durability rather than flexibility. What that basically means us it'll chew through wood, but it'll grab every so often as well. Something to be aware of. I'd spend a little tine getting comfortable with the saw before potentially finding yourself in a situation where you need it. The back of the blade can also be used with fire steels.

The can/bottle opener duo is a classic. Can't go wrong with either, and you also get the wire stripper and drivers with them. 

The hook is useful for moving firewood IMO. I don't understand why this one doesn't come with the nail file on the back, and that's a minor knock. One more serious knock on this hook. The actual hook end is too close to the keyring hole, and that makes it very difficult to open up.

The awl is really useful for it's intended purpise, and also as a straight up gimlet and can be used with a fire steel as well. Plus it's useful for camp sewing.

The corkscrew I use to hold a tinder twist from Tortoise gear along with an eyeglass driver. There is a slot under the corkscrew that holds a pin to remove splinters, sim cards, etc...not included for some reason. I do recommend buying a pin to fill the slot. They can be useful.

The toothpick I replaced with a Tortoise Gear fire steel. However, there is a quirk with the Huntsman that allows you to actually have both. Next to the scissors is a gap that is perfectly sized to hold the toothpick perfectly snug, and in my experience, the toothpick never comes loose in my pocket or what have you.

The tweezers are great for what they are.

Ich habe das Huntsman vor 20 Jahren als Geschenk erhalten. Seit jeher ist es bei jeder Wanderung, jedem Zelt-Abenteuer dabei und wird nun als Mama fast täglich mit den Kids unterwegs benutzt zum Früchte schneiden, Stock für die Wurst spitzen, Spriessen entfernen, etc etc. Kein Ausflug ohne dieses tolle Sackmesser!

Immer dabei

Gerade als Vater muss man einfach ein Huntsman besitzen. 
Die Säge ist ideal um einen grünen Ast ab zu sägen, damit die Kinder über dem Lagerfeuer Marshmallows oder Stockbrot darüber machen können. 
Oder die Schere, um ganz banal ein Pflaster zurecht zu schneiden, wenn es den Sohnemann aus dem Fahrradsattel hebt und ganz typisch mit dem Gesicht gebremst wird. 
Und am Ende des Tages wird nach einem erfolgreichen/stressigen Tag mit dem Kapselheber die Flasche Bier geköpft. 
Von der Funktionalität ist das Huntsman einfach Spitzenmäßig.

Aber einen Stern muss ich leider abziehen, obwohl es für mich nur ein halber wäre:

Die Kunststoffschale ist alles andere als hochwertig. 
Das Huntsman lag direkt nach dem Kauf bei mir zwei Tage im Auto Armaturenfach und die Schale konnte schon einige Kratzer verzeichnen und das, obwohl, dass Huntsman als einziger Gegenstand im Armaturenfach lag, welches aus Kunststoff besteht, folglich nur Kunststoff auf Kunststoff gerieben hat. 
Als Langjährigers Traditionsunternehmen mit solchen absolut genialen Messern finde ich es etwas schade, dass hier gespart wird.

Es stört jetzt nicht sonderlich, da die Funktionalität im Vordergrund steht und ich auch hier daran appelliere niemals an den Messern/Werkzeugen als solches zu sparen. 
Lieber gebe ich etwas mehr Geld aus und habe am Ende ein vernünftiges Messer in der Hand!!!

Ein tolles Messer für die Arbeit, Freizeit, Reisen und all die kleinen Dinge im Alltag. Ein gut durchdachtes, funktionelles Werkzeug für die Hosentasche. Mein "altes" begleitet mich seit bestimmt 25 Jahren, wenn nicht noch länger.

Preis / Leistung für mich persönlich das beste Taschenmesser.
Es ist noch nicht zu schwer um es in jeder Hose mitzunehmen, aber auch nicht zu klein um nicht alles nötige dabei zu  haben.
Ich habe es seit vielen Jahren immer dabei. Nur aus Schönheitsgründen wechsle ich alle paar Jahre die Schalen. 
Uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen!

I bought this to replace a much loved one that sadly was lost and despite much searching we’ve not been able to find it. My partner uses it everyday for work, the old one stood the test of time and I expect the new one will as well.

Wahnsinnig gutes EDC Messer mit allem drin was man so gebrauchen kann, eventuell noch eine Feile fehlt aber das kann man verschmerzen. Habe dazu die FireAnt, somit wirklich das Survival Tool das man jeden Tag mitnehmen kann.

This is my every day carry pocket knife, it has a lot to offer. The only thing i would change is spiral wine opener. Thats not anymore from this time. Or give the people a change to choose what they can put there. Thats why im giving it a solid 4stars. Ive also buyed one for my wife.

c'est le couteau que je change tous les 2 ans , ce modele m'est fidele depuis plus de 30 ans , j ai eu des modeles avec l'ajout d'une aiguille sous le tire bouchon mais l'essentiel est present, une remise pour le prochain serait la bien venue

Not too much and not too little . I am very fond of this creation . I had heard of how well thought of this Swiss Army Knife is but after having received it I've the sense it's better than I'd imagined .

....zum Messer muss ich nicht viel sagen, ist insgesamt sehr gutes Teil. Wenn man ganz genau hinsieht, kann man ein paar MINIMALE Stellen sehen die vermutlich in der Abweichung der Produktions Fehlertoleranzen liegen. Zb. kleine Kerbe oder Kratzer am Metall im Inneren des Messerschafts. Aber für den Preis ist das akzeptabel.
