How to Clean your Pocket Knife

Fill a sink or bowl with lukewarm water and add a small amount of mild dishwashing liquid. Use a soft brush (for example a toothbrush), a toothpick or a cotton swab to remove dust and stubborn dirt.

Gently clean your pocket knife with the brush. Move the tools back and forth until they move freely again. Rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove all soap residue.

Important: If your knife has wooden scales, avoid prolonged contact with water. Wood can swell or lose its finish.

After cleaning, close your knife and let it air-dry completely. For safety reasons, avoid opening and closing the tools unnecessarily before oiling.

Apply one small drop of Victorinox Multi-Tool Oil to the moving parts of your knife.

• Pocket knives: Apply oil between the springs and the tang of each tool

• Scissors or combination tools: Apply one drop of oil between the joints

• Swiss Tools: Apply oil between the springs, tangs or plier joints as needed

Move the tools back and forth to distribute the oil evenly.

If your pocket knife has wooden scales, apply Victorinox Board & Wood Wax with the included applicator or a clean cloth. Let it absorb briefly and polish gently if needed.
