On-field advertising on Google Earth

Victorinox seen from space

Since 2006, Victorinox has been placing innovative – and sustainable – advertisements in giant fields. This form of publicity is predominantly located in the vicinity of airports. Incorporating an element of entertainment, it is intended to catch the eye of air travelers as their planes come in to land. Now, though, there is another benefit: With a bit of luck, one of Google’s satellites passing overhead will take pictures of the field at exactly the right time and the images will be posted on the web.

That is what happened with this picture. It shows on-field advertising in the Erdinger Moos area near Munich.
